Contemporary Istanbulthe region’s premier international art fair, is delighted to announce the list of galleries and participants for its milestone 10th anniversary, including participating in CI Focus: Contemporary Tehran and CI Plugin New Media and Digitals Arts Section of the fair.
The fair will take place, as always, at the notable Istanbul Congress Centre (ICC) and Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICEC) from November 12th to 15th, 2015. For its 10th edition, Contemporary Istanbul will bring 102 galleries; leading and emerging galleries from 28 cities across 24 countries, including 23 galleries that are participating for the first time - selected by CI Artistic Advisor Marc-Olivier Wahler and the Selection Committee members – Freda Rozenbaum-Uziyel, Kerimcan Güleryüz, Nathalie Mamane Cohen

Istanbul BienalThe Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) has organized the Istanbul Biennial since 1987. The Istanbul Bienal prefers an exhibition model that enables a dialogue between artists and the audience through the work of the artists instead of a national representation model. The curator, appointed by an international advisory board, develops a conceptual framework according to which a variety of artists and projects are invited to the exhibition.
After the first two biennials realized under the general coordination of Beral Madra in 1987 and 1989, IKSV decided to adapt a single curator system following the Istanbul Biennial directed by Vasif Kortun in 1992. Since then, the Biennial was organized under the curatorship of René Block (1995), Rosa Martínez (1997), Paolo Colombo (1999), Yuko Hasegawa (2001), Dan Cameron (2003), Charles Esche and Vasif Kortun (2005) and Hou Hanru (2007), WHW—What, How & for Whom (2009), and Jens Hoffmann and Adriano Pedrosa (2011). The 13thIstanbul Biennial will be curated by Fulya Erdemci and it will take place from September 14 to November 10, 2013.
This year, Biennial presents 'Salt Water' exhibition, starting from 5.9.2015-1.11.2015
